
Olukayode Awosika, MD, DFAPA, is the co-founder and Medical Director of Pinnacle Behavioral Healthcare. Known to many patients as “Dr. K,” he provides compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and other complex mental health conditions. At Pinnacle Behavioral Healthcare in Edina, Minnesota, his goal is to help patients receive timely access to high-quality psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and advanced mental health services.
Dr. Awosika earned his medical degree from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. He practiced psychiatry and family medicine in Nigeria and South Africa before relocating to the United States. He completed his residency at the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University in New York, where he also served as Chief Resident of the adult psychiatry program at Harlem Hospital Center. This international and academic training helps shape his thoughtful, practical, and individualized approach to psychiatric care.
Dr. Awosika has a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders and anxiety disorders. He also focuses on the operational and technology systems that influence whether patients can actually access care when they need it.
